Remodelling News
ONLINE NEWS; JANUARY 2005
1 Head teachers who not yet been engaged in the national training programme for school workforce remodelling and change management can expect to be offered a date in the very near future.
2 The training will take place in groups that correspond with the newly formed learning networks and we aim to have every school involved in the near future.
3 Those already engaged should know the date of their next event when it is likely that we will hear contributions from our local remodelling consultants. This is likely to take place in RE2 and RE3 events.
4 Local consultants are school based practitioners who are offering examples in the use of management tools in areas such as managing support staff, work/life balance, in house cover, the use of change teams and so on.
5 Local consultants may offer specific support to individual schools where appropriate but this has to be coordinated and monitored by the Remodelling Adviser.
6 The seven PPA training days were very well attended. There will be two further events, news of which has been forwarded to schools. These afford the last opportunity to benefit from the funded, nationally approved programme.
7 We are concerned that heads may not be benefiting from an improved work/life balance that allows them to be a little more strategic and reflective. Some colleagues have been prepared to take a more detailed look at this issue and we will share our findings with you. This will be included in our training events but we may also run special workshops for this purpose.
